Facebook Updates that will benefit small business owners during the pandemic

Facebook has introduced a couple of updates that will be released little by little but ones that will most definitely benefit small businesses during the pandemic.

As a reminder, Facebook also owns Instagram and WhatsApp. They’re moving in the right direction to help small businesses keep up!

Facebook Updates

• Facebook Events will now be available to be marked as ONLINE ONLY vs a physical location
• To support the small businesses going live, Facebook is working on the ability to CHARGE for events - this is HUGE for the ever changing social media game!
• You’ll be able to go LIVE on Facebook with someone else, meaning you’ll be able to do interviews, etc.
• Users going LIVE for a Cause will be able to add a Donate button to the live stream

Instagram Updates

• You’ll now be able to watch LIVE videos from your desktop
• After your done with the LIVE, you’ll be given the option to save your video to IGTV where it’ll live longer than the 24hr story option.

WhatsApp Updates

• Whatsapp will be expanding group voice and video calls up to 8ppl at a time.
• Video / Voice calls with be secured with end to end encryption - they will not be able to record or listen in.
